First recognized in the U.S as the front-man for the band Wood (Songs From Stamford Hill - Columbia Records) James Maddock has been living on Manhattan's Lower East Side making great music for the better part of the 2000's. The acclaimed Songs From Stamford Hill , which remains a fan favorite 10 years later, produced a Top 5 Triple A hit (Stay You) , was included in the first Dawson's Creek compilation, and enabled Maddock to tour with the likes of Paula Cole, Train, and Susan Tedeschi. After taking an extended break from record making, Maddock returned to the scene in 2009 with the exquisite collection of songs, Sunrise On Avenue C, for which he won the 2010 NY Music Award for best Americana Album. Upon rediscovering Maddock, Vin Scelsa wrote, A top 50 chart position on the Public Radio radio chart in 2010 for Sunrise on Avenue C leaves Maddock poised to break through to a mainstream audience in 2011 with Wake Up and Dream.
